The FII Basic Freediving Safety course teaches the essential supervision, safety, and rescue procedures needed for safe participation in recreational freediving and spearfishing.

Goals

The course is designed for new divers, spearfishers, parents, spouses, and younger participants who need a clear understanding of basic safety responsibilities, hypoxia risks, supervision, and practical rescue response.

Facts

Course Duration:
1-day course with a minimum of 3 hours of academics and 2 hours of confined water training.

Prerequisites:
Competent swimming skills.

Age Requirement:
Participant must be at least 12 years old.

Equipment:
Wetsuit, mask, snorkel, fins, weight belt, weights

Learning Materials:
FII Basic Freediving Safety manual and workbook. All course materials are provided by their instructor at the start of each course.
