I recently took the Level 1 course with Bobby in St Thomas and absolutely loved it!! The course came highly recommended by numerous friends and I was definitely not disappointed. Bobby is incredibly good at what he does and you can see that he is truly passionate about freediving, which is very inspiring. Coming from a background working with professional trainers in different industries you can see he has a true talent for educating, training and guiding people through something that can be somewhat confronting and challenging to say the least. Handling people with different skill sets when they are pushed out of their comfort zone can be a difficult task and I was very impressed at how he did this. At one point I psyched myself out, but he managed to work out why, reason with me and then give me the confidence to trust my body and know what I was capable of. He makes you feel extremely safe in a calm and comfortable environment that you can’t help but want to step up and nail it! For anyone who likes this sort of thing I highly recommend giving it a go! I look forward to visiting Costa Rica to do Level 2 with him!

I had such a wonderful taking the Level 1 FII course with Bobby! He was very patient and supportive and has a great way of keeping you calm. He made all of the safety procedures and physiology make sense and seem simple. He also did a great job working with each student on their individual issues and was always encouraging.

Matthew is very knowledgeable, patient, and positive. He is passionate about freediving and his enthusiasm makes the class fun with zero pressure. The benefits of this class are enormous. Whether you are trying to spearfish deeper or slow your heart rate during stressful events, Matthew will provide perfect instruction. I am happy I took this class and looking forward to learning more about freediving and more great experiences at Florida Freedivers.

Matthew is one exceptional diver! Very easy-going which made both classroom as well as open water sections fun. One thing that stood out was his flexibility. Willing to take some who missed the boat or had equalization issues out on a friends boat to finish the course. Awesome Instructor
