# 0 Level 1 Freediver
Instructor: Oliver Haroun
Free diving with Drift has been so much fun. I feel blessed to have completed the level-I course at this stage in my life. The first time I saw the 20 meter-target at the end of the line, I said "S..". I cannot cannot deny it; afraid of failure and blackout at worst. I stayed positive; by not letting fear overtake me. My confidence was restored after the completion of the warm up drills with the rope at 5 meter marks. The course exceeded my expectations. Safety and rescue were hugely important for me. I love the way you articulate and show the techniques in the water. Peace of mind and go-for-it attitude supported knowing that you had my back. You posses many of the qualities of a great sport coach: positive, enthusiastic, supportive, trusting, focused, goal-oriented, knowledgeable, observant, respectful, patient and a clear communicator. I can't wait to go at it again to practice safety and technique learned in the course. Looking forward to keep in touch with you, staff and students in the name of this beautiful sport. Kudos and thank you for your patience!

Virgil was a great instructor, showing patience with the different challenges each student brought to him, encouraging to push ourselves inside our limits, respecting our comfort zones. His calmness and positivity was contagious.

Excellent course! Excellent instructor! Excellent workbook! Excellent pool and ocean dive sessions! Plus, I made it to 66 ft and I had fun doing it! I highly recommend this course to anyone who want a professional course that covers technique, safety and equipment taught by an instructor who clearly loves freediving and sharing it with his students! Well done!

I took my Freediver Level 1 at Rocky Point. New York. The instructor (Dean McCormick) was very attentive and explicit. Safety was on highest level. Even though it was a group course how ever I Dean was able to give attention to every student. Highly recommend this course.

Rarely have I taken a course in any field where the instructor was as good as my FII Level 1 instructor Oliver Haroun (and his wife Joi, who did a great job assisting through parts of our training). Oliver was a pleasure to work with, very well-versed in the subject matter, understanding of the challenges new divers face in processing all of the information related to freediving, and a great ambassador for the sport. I certainly plan to dive again with Oliver in the future and highly recommend him to anyone considering taking a freediving course.
